XMLEditPro is a versatile free tool to create and edit XML and DTD files. Its well structured, professional-looking interface, together with the different viewing options it offers, make XML writing and editing an easy and rewarding task. It allows you to validate your XML files and corresponding DTDs, create your own DTDs, and even write your own plug-ins.
It offers you three different viewing options – Node, Source, and Browser view. In the Node view, you are presented with a tree structure of an XML document, allowing you to identify the hierarchical relationship of its elements at a glance. This view can also be used to edit the document, and even to create the structure of a new XML document. To edit the nodes tree, just drag and drop any element to a desired position, and click on it to view and edit its contents. You can also delete any node from here, and add new siblings or child nodes. To add text, attributes, comments, or CData to an element, a small menu is displayed where you can select the corresponding label, which can later be edited so that you can add the necessary text or value.
The Source view will show you the XML document as plain text. The editing process here is very similar to that in Microsoft Notepad or any other simple text editor. The Browser view uses MSXML and Internet Explorer’s XSL to show you the XML document and its hierarchical structure. This third viewing option includes no editing functionality. more
